Career Opportunities

Medical Plans

Employees have the choice of two medical plans, an EPO or a PPO:

  • The EPO (exclusive provider organization) plan has NO deductible and simple co-payments.
  • The PPO plan has deductibles and higher co-payments. However, you may use non-network providers at a reduced benefit.

The EPO plan offers employees a wide choice of physicians and hospitals through the Anthem Blue Cross Network.  Under this plan, employees have direct access to Anthem Blue Cross specialists; there is no requirement to go through a primary care physician.

Prescription & Vision benefits are included in the plan at no additional cost.

Weight Loss Management and Smoking Cessation programs are also available.

Dental Plan

We have a great dental plan available to our employees. Employees have the option to visit any dentist of their choice. Preventive care such as cleanings, x-rays, and diagnostics are covered 100% with no deductible.

Flexible Spending Accounts

For certain health and dependent care expenses not reimbursed by insurance programs, employees may enroll in the Flex Plan, which allows expenses to be paid with pre-tax dollars rather than after-tax dollars.

Participation is optional and employees decide whether or not, and how much, to contribute to their spending account. There are two accounts, one for health care and one for dependent care. Employees set aside money for these accounts through convenient payroll deductions which are made on a pre-tax basis so that employees reduce their taxable income.

The Flex Plan Dependent Care Account may be used to pay for dependent day care expenses incurred by the employee and spouse while working or attending school.

Life Insurance Plans

As a regular, full-time employee of BREG, you are covered by a company-paid Term Life Insurance plan.  The benefit of the plan is equal to one times your annual base salary.

Supplemental Life Insurance

Additional Voluntary Life Insurance is available. Employees can purchase in increments of $10,000 and up, to a maximum of $500,000, or 5 times their annual earnings. Spouse coverage can be purchased up to the lesser of 50% of the employee’s amount or $250,000 in increments of $5,000. Dependent children coverage is available; coverage is to a maximum of $10,000 for each child and can be purchased in increments of $2,000.

Long & Short Term Disability

This disability benefit provides financial protection for you by paying a portion of your income while you are disabled. The amount you receive is based on the amount you earned before your disability began.

Paid Time Off

The company maintains a PAID TIME OFF (PTO) Benefit, which allows eligible employees to receive their wages while off work for vacation, personal or family business, and personal or dependent illness or emergency. The PTO benefit is designed to allow for the rest and relaxation of regular employees, as well as to minimize the financial hardship that would otherwise confront employees who are required to be absent from work due to the above situations. The purpose of a Paid Time Off program is to recognize the diverse situations in which employees have needs for time off and allows eligible employees to receive their wages while managing their own time off from work.

Regular full-time and part-time employees who are regularly scheduled to work at least 20 hours a week are eligible to earn PTO benefits from their first day of work. Part-time employees, who are normally scheduled to work less than 20 hours a week, and temporary employees are not eligible to participate in the Paid Time Off benefit. While on a Leave of Absence, eligible employees will discontinue accrual of paid time off hours.

Full time employees begin to earn PTO benefits in accordance with the following schedule:

Length of Continuous Service Per Biweekly Pay Period Accrual 12 month Accrual Maximum Accrual
Day one up to 1st year complete service 4 hours per pay period 104 hours per year (13 days) 208 Hours
Beginning 1st year up to 2nd year complete service 4.31 hours per pay period 112 hours per year (14 days) 224 Hours
Beginning 2nd year up to 3rd year complete service 4.62 hours per pay period 120 hours per year (15 days) 240 Hours
Beginning 3rd year up to 4th year complete service 4.92 hours per pay period 128 hours per year (16 days) 256 Hours
Beginning 4th year up to 5 years complete service 5.54 hours per pay period 144 hours per year (18 days) 288 Hours
Beginning 5th year up to 6 years complete service 5.85 hours per pay period 152 hours per year (19 days) 304 Hours
Beginning 6th year and over 6.15 hours per pay period 160 hours per year (20 days) 320 Hours

Part-time employees regularly scheduled at least 20 hours per week will earn pro-rated PTO based on their regular scheduled workweek. For example, an employee regularly scheduled 20 hours per workweek will accrue 2 hours per pay period during the first year of service.

Holidays

BREG currently designates nine holidays as company-paid days off. BREG will pay time and one-half for eligible employees working on a company-designated holiday (in addition to holiday pay). Holiday pay will be considered "hours worked" when calculating overtime for over forty (40) hours in a week.

Employee Assistance Program (EAP)

The company provides a confidential, professional counseling service for regular employees and their family members. This service is available when personal problems interfere with relationships, job performance and physical health. Everyone can benefit from help when these difficulties arise. This is why we provide a special employee benefit called an Employee Assistance Program (EAP).

The EAP program offers professional counseling for life challenges such as:

  • Relationship & Family Difficulties
  • Personal Problems
  • Stress
  • Conflicts at Work
  • Alcoholism
  • Drug Abuse

Referrals can also be made for financial and legal problems. Consultations are limited to six per year and an EAP counselor can be arranged at no cost.

You can direct your contributions into a variety of investment options. You are 100% vested (own 100%) of your own contributions immediately. You are 20% vested for company contributions each year (1000 hours of service) after the first year, 100% after five (5) years.

Employee Stock Purchase Plan

As an Orthofix, Inc. company, BREG employees are eligible to participate in the Orthofix Employee Stock Purchase Plan (ESPP).

BREG employees can elect between 1% - 25% to be deducted, after tax, from their bi-weekly compensation.  The money is deposited in a separate interest-bearing account each pay period throughout the Plan year.

The stock purchase price for non-officers is 85% of the closing market price on December 31st of the current year.  At the end of the Plan year, employees have the choice of purchasing Orthofix stock or withdrawing the contributions plus earned interest and taking the money as cash.  Any stock purchased will be issued as non-restricted shares of Orthofix stock. The difference between the purchase price and the stock price at the end of the Plan year may be taxable income.

Tuition Reimbursement

BREG provides an environment that allows all individuals to grow professionally based on their skills, experience, training and education. Everyone is encouraged to express their career goals with their managers, especially during the performance review process.

In support of this commitment, BREG provides an excellent Tuition Reimbursement Benefit for regular full time employees.
