I had a shoulder

5

I had a shoulder reconstruction done after about 8 full/partial dislocations (Bankart Lesion and Slap Tear). After getting out of my sling and finishing rehab I was cleared to continue my training in submission grappling. This brace does a really good job protecting and reminding me to protect my shoulder while participating in submission grappling (Brazilian Jiu Jitsu, Wrestling, Judo, Sambo, MMA...etc). It acts as a leash and doesn't allow you to put your arm in positions that would be high risk. I didn't expect it to last very long but to my surprise the stabilizer is actually pretty durable (lasted over 100 hours of hard grappling). The only repair I have had to do was restitch and replace the webbing on the leash (costs like 30 cents a foot at REI). The only limitation is that it can't protect you from falling on your shoulder but that isn't really what it is designed for. I wash it in the sink by hand with laundry detergent. Overall, I am very impressed with this product.
