Most nonprofit hospitals and federal government entities are tax-exempt.
Listing the wholesale account number for existing customers affiliated with this business will enable the Credit team to cross-reference the account and check if Breg has a tax exempt certificate already on file so they can apply the designation to the customer’s SNB account.
Each state can have different requirements for tax exemption certificates, and each certificate will need to be reviewed for accuracy and approved by Breg’s tax manager. If a wholesale account number is listed and the tax-exempt certificate on file is expired, the Credit team will reach out to obtain an updated certificate.
If you are unsure if an account should be tax exempt, ask your customer to reach out to the appropriate contact within their organization to confirm their tax exempt status. In hospitals and academic institutions, this is likely a member of the Finance team; in clinics, it could be a business or operations manager.
